Civil Engineering Department

The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. The department trains the students in both theoretical and practical aspects of Civil Engineering. The students are trained in the current state-of-the art technology to enable them to adapt to ever changing technologies. .

The activities of the department are carried out in five different divisions as follows

• Water resources Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Geotechnical Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Transportation Engineering

There are well equipped laboratories attached to different divisions for teaching, research and consulting activities The department has a lot of consultancy works in the field of structural Engg, Water resources Engg, and geotechnical Engg. The project of Civil Engg. department in Rain water conservation technique has got State level First prize in Malayala Manorama 'Palathulli" Award. The department has on going projects in the renovation of Sea Bridge at Alappuzha under Harbour Engg Dept, Govt. of Kerala and a mini hydel project for Kerala State Plantation Corporation at Thannithodu of Pathanamthitta.
