ABOUT The concept of UNAI was introduced and implemented in MCET by our Principal: Dr. Jubilant J Kizhakkethottam. The inauguration of The Musaliar College UNAI - ASPIRE Chapter, Kerala Forum of United Nations Academic Impact (KFUNAI) and the state level three day Camp, was held at Musaliar College of Engineering and Technology (MCET), Pathanamthitta on July 10th to July 12th, 2015. The camp, based on the vision of the UNAI was organized by UNAI Chapter of MCET in collaboration with KFUNAI. It was designed to provide theoretical and practical training to young participants, who try to imbibe the ten basic principles of UNAI.
VISION AND MISSION In the words of United Nations Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon: “The Academic Impact aims to generate a global movement of minds to promote a new culture of intellectual social responsibility. It is animated by a commitment to certain bedrock principles. Among them: freedom of inquiry, opinion and speech; educational opportunity for all; global citizenship; sustainability; and dialogue.” Furthermore, UNAI aims to support the realization of the millennium development goals focusing on the reciprocal relationship between education and sustainable development.
OBJECTIVES
Musaliar College UNAI - ASPIRE Chapter and KFUNAI were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri. Saji C Thomas,UN staff, New York. The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Roys P David, President, KFUNAI and Principal, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry.The inaugural function was followed by a Technical Session handled by Mr. Benson Thomas George. This session was fun filled and more like an ice breaking session where the students could create a rapport among all, for further activities in the camp for the following days.
Activities
“CONSCIENTE” The members of UNAI ASPIRE CHAPTER functioning in Musaliar College of Engineering & Technology, Pathanamthitta organized a two hour informative seminar as a part of on 12th November 2018, at 2.00 PM in MBA seminar hall . The resource person of the day was Mr. Saji C Thomas, the renowned UN representative. The seminar, ‘Consciente’ pointed about UNAI aspects and sustainable development goals.
United Nation Day
UNAI ASPIRE members celebrated UN day at Musaliar college of engineering and technology.
A message on waste management and energy conservation was circulated and read in all classes.
A talk on Sustainable Development Goals with special focus on waste management was taken by principal.

Flood Relief Activities
Flood relief kits were distributed to the flood survivors in various parts of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha. Flood relief activities were extended till 2 weeks. Students of MCET and MCAS offered their hand in unloading, sorting, packing and distribution of flood relief materials. Each relief kits contained essential non-perishable food items and basic utilities.
