The department of Civil Engineering began functioning in the college in the year 2004 and offers an 8-Semester B.Tech. degree course in Civil Engineering. The course has been recognized by AICTE and Government of Kerala. The annual intake for the course is 60 students. The Civil Engineering department is spearheaded by a highly competent, dedicated, well qualified and experienced faculty. Full fledged laboratories supplemented with modern machines make this course useful for students aspiring to excel in Civil Engineering.

To impart the fundamentals of Civil Engineering as well as the modern trends with due emphasis on the local conditions and the traditional norms to the students of the department.
Facilities
The department of Civil Engineering is housed in a spacious block. The various laboratories are provided in the same building. Modern test equipments give the students advanced training in all disciplines of Civil Engineering.

The department has a well equipped Computer Centre with good number of PCs on LAN having latest software for drafting, designing and analysis.
Field of Consultancy
The department offers considerable consultancy services in various fields of Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geo-Technical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. This department supervises all construction works within the campus.
Project Works Done
The project on Rain Water Conservation Technique in the department of Civil Engineering has got State level First prize in Malayala Manorama “Palathulli” award. The department has on going projects in the renovation of Sea Bridge at Alappuzha under the Department of Harbour Engineering, Government of Kerala and a mini hydel project for Kerala State Plantation Corporation at Thannithodu, Ptahnamthitta.
