The department aims to hone technical skills demanded by today's engineering professionals by providing a sound technical platform and the required knowledge base in order to bridge the gap between knowledge and its true application. Students are required to undertake seminars, mini-project and main project that put them through an industry-like situation. It prepares them to meet the challenges faced by today's IT professional by exposing them to wide array of cutting-edge technologies.

                  The department has a spacious seminar hall, which has got good multimedia conferencing facilities. The department library has got a large number of books and journals in computer science and engineering. Library also had back up volumes of the previous year's seminar and project reports for student's reference. The department has a digital library, maintained by students with recent journals and E-books where students can refer and   prepare notes for their subjects. The department maintains an E-Learning centre with Linux platform, which gives students exposure to the new programming languages and technologies. The software club maintained by students trains themselves in new software’s and applications.

The department gives free training for students in Linux operating system development.

                     The department provides very good computing facilities for learning and research. Department has the following labs under its cap, Advanced Computer Center, Systems lab, Project & Internet lab and Microprocessor & Embedded Systems lab. The Campus Network Cell (CNC) under the Department Controls the whole networking and software solutions for the Campus. The most modern power backup facilities ensure non interrupted functioning of department activities.
