The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has an annual intake of 90 students. The Faculty – student ratio in the department is 1:15. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members including 7 M.Tech. Degree holders with more than 3 years of teaching experience.
Objectives:
The department strives to achieve academic excellence through dedicated efforts, innovative methods of teaching and by conducting regular technical seminars by internal Faculty and invited resource persons from industry and academics. We encourage the students to undertake micro projects in order to gain hands-on experience in fundamental circuit design and troubleshooting. The department provides state-of-the-art laboratories with electronic equipments, trainer systems and components. We are looking ahead to create Electronics Engineers who could excel in their profession, with sound theoretical knowledge, practical experience and confidence to meet any challenges thrown upon them during their carrier.
Laboratory Facilities:
The department has established six laboratories for practical sessions in:
1. Basic Electronics
2. Solid State Electronics
3. Electronic Circuits
4. Integrated Circuits
5. Digital Electronics
6. Microprocessor system
7. Communication system
8. Microcontroller system
9. Digital Signal Processing system
10. Mini Projects
11. VLSI design
In addition to the basic equipments and measuring instruments, the labs are provided with the following trainer systems:
* Fiber Optic Trainer system
* Microwave Trainer system
* Digital communication Trainer system
* Microcontroller Trainer system
* Microprocessor Trainer system
* VLSI Trainer System
Association:
The Department has an association OMEGA (Organization of Mighty Electronics Group of Aspirants). The Electronics students Associatio0n OMEGA was proposed with the objective to organize various activities that contribute to the academic and professional development of students along with leadership qualities, teamwork and their essential employability skills. The various activities organized by the association are as follows.
* HECTRIX:
A technical festival was organized in the academic year 2007 and various events such as project exhibition, paper presentation, circuit debugging etc. were conducted.
* GENEX-09
Another technical festival was organized in 2009. Apart from paper presentation, project exhibition, debate and circuit debugging the main attraction for the fest was air show and robotics show.
* Quiz and debate club
It is a hub for the students to exchange and develop their knowledge and thinking ability in order to upgrade the standard of the students which in turn adds to the professional growth of the institution and society.
