The Founder chairman of Musaliar Education Trust. He was a highly experienced person in the field of education, managing the technical and no-technical educational institutions for nearly four decades.

He was the chairman of the governing body of the TKM College of Engineering, TKM College of Arts and Science, TKM Institute of Management, TKM school of Information Technology and  TKM Public School. He was also the president of the Thangal Kunju Musaliar Trust which established and manages these institutions. The TKM  College of Engineering was the first private sector Engineering College in the state of Kerala.

Mr. Musaliar was also a member of Senate , Kamaraj University, Maduari, and member of the Syndicate and also the Academic Council of Anna University, Chennai.

He had also been actively associated with the establishment and development of educational institutions for almost four decades. He had been also served as member of Senate and member of Faculty of Commerce of the University of Kerala. He was also the member of the governing body of the Regional Engineering College, Warangal.

Mr. Shahal Musaliar was born on April 22, 1932 at his ancestral home in Kollam, Kerala, India. He was the eldest son of the then Leading Industrialist and Educationalist Late Janab A. Thangal Kunju Musaliar. After Higher studies in USA, Musaliar had been actively involved in the export trade and in the development of TKM institutions, which have now grown into portals of excellence especially in technical education.
