Placement Cell

The placement cell of Musaliar college of Engineering and Technology has been set up with the intention to provide training and placement for all our students. The primary role of the cell would be to:

• Prepare students for successful performance in competitive exams like GATE& GMAT 
• Develop communication abilities by conducting GD’s and mock interviews.
• Invite Industry and prospective employers to organize campus interviews for pre-final and final-year students.

The Placement and Training Cell at MCET gives top priority to placement and related activities.

As our third batch (2006-2008 ) is in the final year we have further geared up the training and placement activities and so far 147 students are already placed in reputed companies.

The Methodology

Our vision regarding the activities of the Placement Cell  focused on 3 major areas.

a. Training

Based on the Industry specs. and needs, we have done a backward integration exercise and developed a 'Structured training program for development'for our students.
This program starts right from their first semester and spans through their entire study here, with a clear logical progression.It gives the students the right confidence and skills while facing employment related challenges.

We bring experts from various parts of the country and abroad to conduct these programs.All these programs are external to the regular academic curriculum.

b. Core activity of placing the students

We have established a good network comprising of Recruiters, Corporates and HR Professionals  through which our objectives in placements are easily realised .
We conduct regular recruitment events along with other Engineeing Colleges for placing not only our  B Tech students but also other students from this region and from other disciplines.

c. Branding of the Institution

We create state of the art communication tools and use the right mix of masscom media to promote and position our institution. This is really helping us in our placement related activities.

Another unique model we practise here is the full IT deployment in whatever we do. Thus the power of IT is amply utilised in all our placement related activities.
