Intellectual Property Rights are exclusive legal rights over creations of the mind. IPR give the proprietor rights to exploit intellectual creation of the mind. IPRs are essential to fostering innovation to encourage inventiveness in various areas of research and development. It contributes to ensure profitability and better service to the society. The major objectives of the centre are to organize technical programmes to generate awareness among public on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and thus nurturing students research scholars, scientist, technocrats, professionals, industrialists, grass root innovators, etc.


                          Musaliar College of Engineering IPR Cell  has been formed to provide guidance to the faculty, staff, students and research scholars on the practices and rules of the MCET pertaining to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and facilitates protection of the rights of the Inventor (s) and as well the obligations which include its ownership, commercial exploitation, technology-transfer and end confidentiality requirements.



  • To create an awareness about IPR among the faculty and students.
  • To conduct workshops and seminars on IPR.
  • To educate faculty about the procedure of patent filing.

  IPR Cell has conducted seminars and workshops for the faculty and students to enhance research and patenting culture at Musaliar College of Engineering & Technology.
